Currently Publishing My First Blog Post

Why hello there.
My name is Casey Keeley, I have held this domain name Currently Casey since my senior year of college and have done absolutely nothing with it, despite making the recurring annual payments to keep the moniker.
Now, almost four and a half years later, I have decided to actually publish my first blog post.
To say that I have always wanted to blog is a long shot, but I did start my first journal when I was 6, so it was bound to happen at some point. I carried my first journal - a raggedy black and white Composition book - with me literally EVERYWHERE. From the table to the store to my Mawmaw’s house, it stayed by me until I shoved it under my pillow at night.
I developed a decent lump on my middle finger from where I was constantly handling the pens and pencils that I would use to write with.
I started writing at a young age too… I remember we had two iMac G3s that we had bought from Goodwill for a song. Probably not for that cheap, but it was my parents money, not mine, so what do I know?
The blue one I wasn’t a big fan of because what is the color blue compared to orange???
T’was on that orange iMac G3 that I wrote my first book about two young women who lived in a fantasy world who found a magic necklace that tried made them do bad things. Their mission was to destroy this necklace or risk the trajectory of the world as they knew it… They embarked on their mission and gathered an elf, a couple of tiny people that I think I named “Fidgits” because I didn’t (and still don’t) believe in being PC, and a slightly taller dwarf to assist them along in their journey.
Now you may be thinking “that sound like a really creative story. I wonder where that 6 year old came up with the idea for that” but don’t get it twisted! I had an open copy of The Lord of the Rings open right next to me as I wrote.
That being said, I have always loved to write. Reading is my first love, but writing is my passion.
My main reason for publishing this first blog post is to get myself focused and back on track in my writing. I went to school for Journalism and Marketing and have so far done nothing big with those degrees, choosing instead to follow the money in places that never fulfilled me or made me happy. I don’t think people should chase happiness as their ultimate goal for life, because I think virtue comes through suffering as Job did, but when I am not happy then I tend to make other people around me unhappy as well, just as an accidental side affect.
So here are my goals for the year:
I am going to post AT LEAST weekly
I am going to write 30 articles for various magazines and newspaper to monetize my writing.
I am going to tweak this website to where it is presentable to the public and include my portfolio
I am going to complete the first three books of the Claire Bear series and get started on developing the groundwork for Emma Otter
